Our Veterans Competition every Thursday is becoming increasing popular regularly attracting 50 players or more. As part of the activities there is a lucky numbers draw where vets pick their “lucky” numbers off the sheets provided. After golf when everyone is settled you will hear the the call “Everyone got their numbers!!” or “only a couple left”. The voice behind the call is our one and only Jimmy Nilsson.
So while Captain Terry Doyle and Vice Captain Bernie McDonald compile all the results of the day and prepare the results sheet for President Grant the Lucky Numbers are drawn under the guidance of Jim and Vets Secretary Steve Ormond. (pictured above)
Jimmy during his call often takes the “mickey” (all in good fun I must say) of those who are fortunate to win some money. It really is one of the highlights of the day.
